Why Did You Start Your Own Dental Office?
Dr. Aquino always wondered why so many people dislike going to the dentist. During his years practicing dentistry in New York and New Jersey, Dr. Aquino listened to all of his patients, and he learned that patients just want to be comfortable, to feel no pain during treatment, and to know that they are receiving proper care. He sought out to be a top clinician by taking advanced continuing education courses in order to enhance his technical and diagnostic skills. He is known for giving painless injections, and he is confident that his work would have a predictable and long-lasting outcome. He designed a state-of-the-art dental office so that he can use the most advanced technology available in the field and to provide comfortable amenities to ease the fear of patients. His ultimate goal is to gain the trust of every patient who walks through his doors and to treat every patient like family.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Aquino earned his bachelor’s degree from Calvin College and his DMD from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, previously known as UMDNJ. He chose to attend a General Practice Residency at the Morristown Medical Center, which is considered the top program in the state! During his residency, he received advanced training in root canal therapy, cosmetic dentistry, CAD/CAM technology, dental implant placement, advanced oral surgery, full mouth reconstruction, and pediatric dentistry. He additionally had the opportunity to treat medically complex patients, provide consultations in the emergency room, and perform surgeries alongside New Jersey’s top oral surgeons.
After practicing in New York for a few years, Dr. Aquino chose to return to New Jersey. To this day, he remains heavily involved in continuing education so that he can stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field. Every year, he travels to Arizona to attend workshops and seminars through the Spear Education Campus.
Dr. Aquino is proud to have a FAGD (Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry), which is one of the highest awards a dentist can receive. Only 6% of general dentists in the US and Canada earn this distinction. Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Aquino completed more than 500 hours of continuing education in multiple disciplines and passed a rigorous comprehensive exam written by the AGD Council on Dental Education. This demonstrates his commitment to only offering the highest quality care here at White Oak Dental & Orthodontics

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Aquino met Dr. Lai in dental school, and they recently welcomed their son Jackson into the world. They also have a cat named Nala. Away from work, they love trying new types of food (especially seafood), traveling, hiking, playing tennis, and going to Disney World. Being able to take Jackson outdoors in Woodbridge and explore what New Jersey in particular has to offer is always so fun! As for personal hobbies, he enjoys playing the piano and teaching Jackson how to play the keys.
